Our Preschoolers

We have 2 boys in preschool!!! We had a very exciting morning. They got to put on their new sneakers and carry their tote bags to the car. They were both very excited. David said his stomach hurt because he was so excited. Ryan just wanted to get in the car and go. He did not want to fool around with pictures.

There was no stopping them once we got to the school. They both ran to the door and push through to get in. I think Ryan was just so excited to actually get to stay and see what goes on at preschool. He's spent 2 years watching David get dropped off and picked up. Ryan didn't shed a single tear. At pick up he had a huge smile and ran to me with open arms for a big hug, but no tears.
David and Ryan both had successful first days. The only disappointment came when Ryan heard that David had crackers for snack. Ryan said he had goldfish. Ryan then spent the remainder of the ride to pick up Paul for lunch saying "I no have crackers? Why I no have crackers? I have goldfish and wawa." I'm hoping he asks for crackers on Friday, but then I'm sure David's class will have goldfish and it will all start again . . . . We took the boys out to lunch after school. Usually they pick the Waffle Shop, but they surprised us today and picked the Corner Room. They both love the milkshakes at the Corner Room. Ryan asked for one right away when the waiter came to our table.

Labor Day Vacation at Seven Springs

We spent the long weekend at Seven Springs, Fri, Sat & Sun night. The boys did great sleeping in their own bed. I kept waking up in the middle of the night, hearing noises and then checking on them. They moved around A LOT during the night. (I had to take some pictures.)
Who could sleep like this? The 2nd they woke up on completely different sides of the bed. David said he felt Ryan moving over top of him, but didn't wake up. . . . what?!?!
We went to check out the new restaurant at the Shooting Clays center. It was really pretty. We could watch anyone shooting, they were too far away. We could hear the shots. I want to try it out on our next trip to Seven Springs.
Nana Sharon and David got to try out one of the guns. They weren't as heavy as I thought they would be. We got the boys clays to bring home.

Ryan was such a big kid for this trip. We didn't use the stroller the whole weekend. He walked a lot and when he got tired Paul carried him on his shoulders. Happy Kid!
Love the butt crack! When I showed the boys this picture they wanted to know why I thought it was funny. Butt Crack is their new favorite word. (Can't wait to hear about them saying that at preschool.)

David's favorite activity of the entire weekend was bowling. We played a game on Saturday and Monday. He was so happy when Ryan got "fed up" with the game and he was allowed to finish Ryan's game.
I think the desserts were Ryan's favorite part of the weekend. He was in heaven at the dessert bar on Saturday and Sunday night. He tried to touch every dessert so we would have to bring it back to the table. We learned our lesson on that Saturday night and on Sunday was carried him to the dessert bar and he had to point to what he wanted.

Two happy bed wrestlers.

We went down the alpine slide first thing on Saturday morning and Paul and David took a spill and flew off their sled right away. Luckily for David Paul's arm saved his cheek from getting a brush burn. . . .
not so lucky for Paul's arm, hand and knee.
Bright and early Monday morning the boys participated in the kids fishing tournament. They were really excited to use their rods again. It was really cold in the morning and the fish weren't biting. We got to see the girl beside catch a rainbow trout.
David worked really hard to cast his line by himself and reel it back in. He kept at it for nearly an hour.

Lunch, Ice Cream & Water Fun with Friends

We invited some of David's classmates over for lunch, ice cream and water fun this afternoon. They had pb& j, chicken nugget, grapes, strawberries and carrots for lunch. They're all such good kids. After lunch we put out sundae toppings and ice cream and they made their own sundaes. Ryan was very excited to see the mini m&ms. (love that face!)
Ryan took the sundae eating seriously. I think he just wanted to make sure he ate every single one of those m&ms.
After the sundaes were devoured we headed outsite to play in the pirate pool and slip n slide. It was 90 degrees this afternoon, but felt like 100!

Fun Day!

Meeting the Teacher

We went to Meet the Teacher Day at David and Ryan's preschool this morning. We stopped in Ryan's classroom first. David showed Ryan where the cubbies were and helped him find his school tote bag. David was being very "big brotherly" this morning.
We talked to Ryan's very friendly teacher, Ms. Cathy. There will be 10 children in Ryan's class.
I worried that Ryan might not feel comfortable in the classroom, but when he grabbed the blocks out of the little girl's hand and threw them off the table, yelling "Mine!" I knew he was in his comfort zone. Ms. Cathy is a very brave woman.
David walked into his classroom, saw his friends from last year and immediately began playing Knights and Castles. He didn't need us at all. I think he would have been happy if we had just left him there this morning.
David's teachers this year will be Mrs. Wylie and Mrs. Lee. They both get rave reviews from fellow parents and we're excited for David to be in their classroom.
