Halloween Trick or Treating
All three boys dressed up for Trick or Treating this year. David was a Phantom (with glowing eyes!), David was Superman and Paul was a Prisoner. Lots and lots of candy! David stayed out from 6 - 8 p.m. and Ryan came home around 7 p.m. Lots of candy to enjoy!

October Snowstorm
SNOW! When Ryan woke up his first question was "Is Christmas almost here?!" He's very excited about Christmas this year. It's a beautiful winter wonderland in State College! We're staying in and enjoying a day of legos and football!
Alternative Punishment
We found a new way of handling sibling arguments at our house. When the boys start fighting with each other they have to sit on the couch and hold hands for 5 minutes. It's a LONG five minutes. The only drawback is Ryan may actually enjoy the punishment, David not as much.

David turning 6 feels like a very big deal around here. He's riding the school bus, going to kindergarten, talking about football, baseball, soccer, and basketball non-stop, learning to tie his shoes. . . he's not wearing any sizes that end in T (4T, 5T)! He really is a big kid. I was feeling a little sad about how grown up he's becoming and then he stepped off the bus GLOWING with excitement about wearing his Birthday hat from school - I forgot all about those big kid things and realized he'll always have a little kid inside!
Kindergarten Halloween Parade
Ryan and I went to the Elementary school to watch the Halloween parade. David's class started the parade with Mrs. Dobash in a Mario costume. David choose to wear his dinosaur costume because he could put it on and take it off by himself. Lots of transformers, knights, cowboys and superheroes!

David had a fever on his birthday and ended up staying home from school and laying on the couch for most of the day. He wasn't hungry for anything. David LOVES brownies and said he might be able to eat one, so we made brownies instead of cake, but he didn't even want to eat the brownie! He was definitely a sick little guy. He was able to find enough energy to put together the first bag of his alien Lego kit.

Fall Soccer 2011
Fall Soccer season was so much fun! The kids are getting older and starting to understand more about playing the game. Paul coached for the third time and said it was the most fun he's had so far. David was really aggressive this year. He went after the ball and cheered his team on from the sidelines while he took breaks.
We had two rainy soccer nights and David LOVED both of them. He came home covered - COVERED - in mud both nights, but with a big smile on his face.

Fall Family Get Together
We got together with some friends for an evening in the woods - including dinner, smores, a bango player, and lots of campfire fun. We rode a wagon out into the middle of the woods.
The kids all sat together at the table to eat and then took off in different directions to explore the woods.
The loved making smores and roasting marshmallows. The older kids were trying to make smoke by throwing wet leaves into the fire. They were being watched very closely while we made sure they were safe. We had a lecture by the tour guide on our way to the location to "let the kids be kids and explore". He assured us that they would only touch the fire once and then never do it again!

The bango player tried playing to his audience with some Old McDonald and Twinkle Twinkle, but the kids weren't too interested in singing along while the fire was still lit and marshmallows were still available.

Pumpkins, Apples & The Bath of Blood
The Harner Farm tour is one of my favorite parts of fall. We ride a wagon out to the orchard, pick pumpkins, apples and then weave our way through the corn maze with Ryan searching for the treasure chest and David searching for the Bath of Blood! David loved the scary porch covered in black sheets with scary music. Ryan walked around the outside of the porch.
Pumpkins picked and then off to the apple trees - one of each for all the kids.
Ryan kept picking an apple from the tree and then dropping it so he could pick "one more mommy!"
Yay! We found the treasure chest in the corn maze and everyone got a spider ring!
Boo for Ryan that we found the Bath of Blood!
Yay for David that we found the Bath of Blood! He talks about this every year.
Boys being boys. This went on for about 20 minutes after the tour. It was a nice night and they were all full of energy. We spent over 2 hours at the farm. Such a fun night!
