Where's the Rice Cereal?

Ryan had his 4 month doctor's visit this morning. He weighed 15 pounds and was 26 1/2 inches tall. I looked back at David's stats at 4 months old - 9 pounds, 22 inches. When I looked at David at 6 months, which should have been 4 months, he was the same height as Ryan and 12 pounds. Ryan had 3 shots and screamed through all of them. David held his hand and then gave him a kiss on the head after the nurse was done. It was really sweet. We got the go ahead to start feeding Ryan real food. I think he's anxious to start eating. He's been devouring his fingers and anything in front of him lately.

Stacking Blocks

David had fun stacking his big blocks up today. He pulled all the letters and numbers out of the squares. After he was done stacking the blocks he took the letters into Ryan's room and decided to share them.

Ryan woke up from his nap covered in letters and numbers. David thought this was really funny. He climbed in Ryan's crib and threw all the letters on the floor.

Story Time

We went to the library this morning for a playgroup. David's favorite part was the storytime at the end. He was able to sit and listen very well. I was very happily surprised by this new turn of events. Typically he spends storytime looking around to see which child will drop their cheerios and then sneaks over to gobble them up. When we got home David read some Disney animal stories to Ryan.

Gymnastics

We went to Gymnastics class this morning. David had fun crawling through the foam pit, jumping from the equipment onto the mats and running through the obstacle course. After an hour he was exhausted. Ryan and I were tired from watching him run around.

Easter Bunny Arrived

The Easter Bunny made it to our house this morning. David was very excited to find eggs in the hallway and down the stairs. He kept saying "another?" and pointing to the next egg as he followed the trail of eggs. The bunny brought him some new books and a Mr. Potato Head family. Ryan just enjoyed watching David eat his candy and wearing his Easter outfit.

Digging for Eggs

We went on an Easter Egg Hunt/Scramble this afternoon with both grandparents and Shelby, Bob, Kelsey & Kaitlyn. We had 2 inches of snow fall on Friday night. David and Kelsey had to dig through the snow for eggs.

David ran up to the Easter Bunny as soon as he saw him. (he's not showing his excitement in the picture, but inside he is thrilled to be so close to the Easter Bunny.)

Kisses from Kelsey

Kelsey wanted to give David kisses all day today. David kept saying "NO!" He finally gave in after I told him she would stop if he let her give him one kiss.

Egg Hunt

David went on an Easter Egg hunt at his friend, Nathan's house this morning. It was a bit chillier than we expected. Everyone had fun scrambling around the yard for eggs. David did really well. It was fun to see him get so excited when he spotted the eggs. He ran all over the yard to pick up the eggs. Ryan stayed close in the bjorn and watched all the action.

Horton Hears a Who

We took David to the movie theatre this weekend to see Dr. Seuss' Horton Hears a Who. David was really excited. He woke up from his nap and told us that he was going to the movies and went to the closet to get his shoes and hat. It was special because he got to go with both of us and Ryan spent the time at a friend's house. David was excellent until the last 20 minutes. And then he decided to walk around the theatre. He tired himself out with excitement and eating popcorn. He fell asleep before we got to our friend's house to pick up Ryan.

Ryan's Friends

Ryan is so used to traveling around to visit David's friends. Today Ryan got to have one of his friends over to play. Tara and Ryan enjoyed sitting beside each other and laughing at me.

Spring Fever

We met Jeana at the park this morning with Jesse and Zach. We weren't there long, but both boys enjoyed running around outside and playing on the slides and swings. Ryan slept in his carseat in the stroller.

Heavy Lifting

Ryan is doing such a good job holding his head up. He likes to watch David run around him while he stays safe inside his playset.

Easter Bunny Arrival

We went to the mall in Altoona this weekend to see the Easter Bunny arrive. We met Shelby and Kelsey there. Our friends Angie and Steve were there too with David's friend Conner. The mall organized an egg hunt that was more like trick or treating. They had fun walking/running to each store and getting an egg in their basket. Then they went for a ride(s) on the train. David was very egg-cited to see the Easter Bunny. He walked right up to him when he came in and held up his bucket while saying "eggs".

Little Brother Big Brother Shirts

Aunt Shelby gave Ryan and David these t-shirts. David and Ryan looked so cute dressed alike.

Our Own Indoor Playground

Grammy Jill and Poppy Dave got this Little Tykes swingset for David last spring. Ryan fit perfectly into the swing. David gave his little brother some gentle pushes. . . . for a while anyway! Then he went back to sliding and climbing.

Snowy Park Day

It was colder outside than it appeared this morning. We went to the park, but didn't stay long. The wind was too cold. David had fun on the swings and going down the slide. It was just nice to get outside.

Making Pretzels

David and I made pretzels this morning and afternoon. David helped with every step. He was most interested in rolling out the dough and shaping the pretzels. Ryan kept a close eye on us from his swing. David got to enjoy a pretzel snack when he woke up from his nap this afternoon.
