Halloween Party at Daddy's Work

We went to Paul's work for a lunch Halloween party this afternoon. There were a lot of really cute pirates and gypsies. The boys both loved the clown. They're used to clowns making balloon animals for them, so they stood and stared at the clown for a while until I think they realized he didn't have balloons.

One of the highlights of the trip was checking out Todd's new scooter. Both boys got to sit on it and pretend to take it for a ride.

Painting Pumpkins

Today was a No-School day for David. We stayed in this morning and painted pumpkins. They used paint and glitter glue to decorate their little pumpkins.
David took his painting very seriously. He covered the entire pumpkin with paint and glitter. Ryan spent a lot of time working on his pumpkin. He stayed at the table a lot longer than David and then suddenly took off running with his paint covered hands. He thought he was being hystertical . . . . he was laughing as I ran after him. He looks devious in this picture.

PSU Trick or Treating

We took the boys trick or treating at the PSU sports museum this evening. They had athletes from every team handing out candy. The highlight was seeing the Nittany Lion and getting a signed poster from the football players.

I'm Allowed to Laugh at This!

The 1st time Ryan got stuck in his drum I ran over and helped him out right away. . . the 5th or maybe 6th time he did it I grabbed the camera! Seriously, it was just too funny. Poor guy.

Little Swimmer

David has had seven months of swim lessons with Ms. Patty. He really LOVES her. At the end of this month he moves to a new teacher and he is not at all excited about it. It's great that he's advancing, but he would much rather stay with Ms. Patty. We're hoping the fact that he's moving up with his friend Mark will help the transition.

Happy Birthday David!

We can't believe he's 4! David had a puppet show at his birthday party. The show was great! They sang songs and put on a little play with knights and mud monsters! It was really cute. David had a Batman cake and pinata. He was so excited to celebrate. Every morning last week he asked "Is today my birthday?" as soon as he woke up.

David and Ryan take their cake eating experience VERY SERIOUSLY!

Pappy David learning about Transformers.

A cousins sleepover after the party. They were so excited. All asleep by 11 p.m. and then up bright and early to start the fun all over again.

Octoberfest

Our Octoberfest at Seven Springs ended up being a little different this year because of the snow storm. We spent a lot of time enjoying the german band and watching football in the sports bar. David and Ryan both liked the polkas and danced to the music. The singer gave Ryan some instruments to play. The whole bar was cheering him on while they were singing You Are My Sunshine.

Snacks before bedtime keep the kids entertained.

FALLing Snow

Friday morning started out with 6 inches of snow on the ground. David and Twix LOVED it. They were outside as soon as they woke up.
This was the view from our condo at Seven Springs this past weekend. It was a little different than the view we're used to in October. We felt like we should have been skiing.

Oooo, the Fun We Have

While David was at preschool this morning Ryan and I took our rugs to the laundromat. We were there about an hour and Ryan was very entertained by the carts and the big washer and dryers.

Fall Train Adventure in Hollidaysburg

We went on a train adventure last weekend. It started with a ride on a school bus to downtown Hollidaysburg. They had all kinds of kids activities and lots of treats to eat. Everyone got a spider to play with and funnel cakes.
Then we boarded the train. While we were waiting to board a group of actors put on a show explaining that there would be a wedding on board the train, but the bride was crying and telling everyone that she didn't want to get married. After that group got on the train, a group of cowboys came out and told us that the bride was in love with one of them and they would rescue her. The actors were really into their characters and the kids were really concerned about the crying bride.

The train stopped midway through our ride, and sure enough, the cowboys came shooting their guns and riding their horses up and down the train tracks. It was really cool. David loved watching them shot their guns.
We watched the bride ride away with her cowboy. ;-)

Happy Birthday Pappy Dave

We went out to Rizzo's for Pappy Dave's birthday last week and then to the Meadows for ice cream. We found these sticky mustaches in toy machines. All the kids had fun trying to look just like Pappy Dave on his birthday.

Yummy Apples, Spooky Corn Maze

We went on an afternoon hayride with the Mother's and More group. It was a lot of fun. There was a really spooky corn maze, with spooky music and all sorts of scary aliens and ghosts. David LOVED it until we came upon the "Bath of Blood". It was an old bathtub with red water running into it.
David was terrified. He ran right over to Ryan (who wasn't afraid at all and was actually walking closer to see it). David grabbed Ryan's hand and demanded that we leave RIGHT NOW!

They both got to pick apples and pumpkins from the patch. It was a fun afternoon.
