Turkeys

David, Kelsey and Kaitlyn made Turkey hats to wear at dinner for Thanksgiving. They were adorable at the table with their little hats. Too Cute!

Monkeys

David and Kelsey pretended to be monkeys jumping onto the air mattress back in our spare bedroom on Thursday night. This helped burn the birthday cake sugar off. They were so full of energy. Each time they jumped from the bed to the mattress they held hands. David was really into jumping onto the mattress. He was having a blast.
I LOVE Kelsey's hair in this picture - what a Wild Woman!

Ryan Likes . . . no LOVES CAKE!

We celebrated Ryan's 1st birthday tonight after Thanksgiving dinner. After some quick instruction from David, Ryan was ready to dig into his very own little birthday cake.
Ryan had no problem eating his cake all by himself. He loved it!!!

After using just one hand to eat, Ryan realized he could get more cake in his mouth with both hands. He was loving it.
Happy Birthday Ryan!!! I think he had a happy birthday cake experience. We had to pull him out of his chair and drop him right into the tub. He was covered in icing.

Study One Year Follow Up

We went to visit Mei at the PSU Kinesiology dept this morning for a follow up visit to the Penn State study Ryan participated in several months ago. We went to see Mei every other week for 20 weeks from the time Ryan was 10 weeks old. Today was his 1 year follow up appt. to study his reaching abilities. He did great and loved her new Elmo doll. Here's a link to one of his first visits: http://davidplusryan.blogspot.com/2008/02/test-subject.html

Rose Bowl Bound

We visited the Nittany Lion this morning to wish him luck in January at the Rose Bowl. David wanted to climb up to the rose very badly, but it was too wet and slippery.

Dunkin Donuts Tour

We went on a tour of Dunkin Donuts this afternoon with our Mother's and More group. David was very shy until the tour guide started to hand out the munchkin donuts. Then he ran up to the front to get his donut. He ran right back to me after he got it though. Yummy! David stopped following the tour when he saw these donuts on the rack.
Two happy boys with their donuts.

Ryan's Fall Music Class

This morning was the last day of Ryan's fall Music Together Class. Ryan has really enjoyed this class and we've made some great new friends.
Ryan's favorite instrument has been these sticks. He loves to tap them on the floor, the drum, the other children. . . . . . and then, of course, he realy enjoys eating them!
Here's Ryan having fun with the parachute. It's rare to get a picture of him above it. He really enjoys crawling under it.

The Original Brown Boys

I got to go to the PSU game this weekend with the originial Brown Boys - Peter (Paul's brother), Paul and Dave (Paul's dad). It was bone chilling cold, but we had a great time watching PSU clinch the Big Ten Championship at the stadium.

They had a ton of blowers out on the field to keep the snow off the lines. The snow stopped after the first half. Then the wind picked up! BBBRRRRrrrrrrrrr, it was cold!

Bad Hair Day

I love what winter hats do to Ryan's hair. I had to take this picture of him after we arrived at the mall this morning. The poor guy was trying to impress the girls we walk with, but they just laughed at his bad hair day do.

Kelsey the Snowman

We went to Barnes and Noble tonight to watch Kelsey sing with a few of her classmates and buy books as part of a school fundraiser. Kelsey and Kaitlyn were adorable in their holiday outfits. Kelsey sang a song about 5 little snowmen and wore a snowman hat and red scarf.
David, Kaitlyn and Ryan had front row seats for the performance. David and Kaitlyn kept their eyes on Ryan though. They weren't sure they wanted to share their bench with him.

Santa's Lap

Two kids on Santa's lap is not too difficult to accomplish. . . 4 kids on Santa's lap is impossible. Poor Santa.

PSU Mens Basketball Game

Paul and David went to their 1st basketball game of the season last night. PSU won the game, but the highlight for David was getting a hug from the Nittany Lion and getting a free pen as part of the giveaway.

Angel Choir

David had his first Angel Choir performance on Sunday. We practiced the song all week. He loves singing the songs from Choir at home, in the car, at the grocery store. . . just about everywhere except when we're in the church. So this morning went as we expected with a very quiet David for the Angel Choir performance. We're going to keep going to the practices though because he does seem to really enjoy it.

Krysteena's Newest Swim Fan

David and I went to the Natatorium on campus on Saturday to watch cousin Krysteena swim. She was visiting from Lebanon with her mom Tammy for a club swimmeet. David really enjoyed watching the swimmers. He motioned along with his arms to match their arm movements from the sidelines. Here's Krysteena diving in to begin her medley. She's the 2nd one in from the wall on the left. She looked awesome and is preparing for a great swim season this year. We had a blast spending the morning at the meet and the rest of the day enjoying their company in State College.

The Wiggles!

Do these kids look excited to see The Wiggles?!!! You should have heard them in the car! In fact, they're screaming is still ringing in my ear a day later. They were VERY excited. Here they are carrying roses to give to Dorothy the Dinosaor and bones to give to Wags the Dog. The Wiggles in their Big Red Car! I was beyond excited when they came on stage. I don't know who had more fun at the concert. It was awesome!
Dorothy the Dinosaur. My new idol. I wish I could do ballet like her. . . so graceful for a dinosaur.

Wags the Dog! David's new idol. He loved him at the show.

Kelsey waving her light up toy during the Twinkle Twinkle song. We all had a blast at this concert. It was perfect for any age. So much energy and enthusiasm. I'm hooked on the Wiggles.

Out to Lunch

I took both boys out to Wegmans for lunch yesterday. We originally went there to pick up lunch and bring it home, but David begged to stay and eat his lunch there, so I couldn't say no. David ate every bite of his lo mein noodles and Ryan, of course, devoured several pieces of chicken, broccoli and a ton of fruit. David really enjoyed checking out all the people having lunch in the cafe. Much more entertaining than our kitchen.

Sand on His Toes

I have been trying to get a picture of David from head to bare toe in the sandbox so I can remember his little ritual. He refuses to get into the sandbox with his shoes on. He sits down beside the sandbox and takes off his shoes and socks everytime he plays in it. He even does it when we go to other sandboxes and at the preschool sandbox. It's getting colder and I told him it's okay to wear his shoes, but he says "No Mommy, toes in the sand." Love it! Ryan is safer in the swing while David is in the sandbox. He had fun today with some leaves.

Trick or Treating Part 2

On Friday night we went trick or treating in our neighborhood. David's friends, Jesse and Caleb, joined us. They were all really excited to see Ryan as Tigger. Here they are standing behind Ryan chanting "Tigger Tigger . . . " and then they tackled him! Poor kid. He was okay. The chanting stopped after that. Ryan gets tackled an awful lot. It was a perfect night for treating. Here are the kids making their first stop of the night. I stayed home to hand out candy and greet the neighborhood kids. David was exhausted after an hour and begged to come home.

Aren't they cute running to the doors. No wonder they were exhausted.
