All Day Playdate

We got to spend the whole day with Riley this past week. Both boys loved having her here to play with all day. We started our day at the Y watching David's swim lesson. Then all three kids ran around the gym for half an hour. They had races back and forth and then followed the black line around the gym. They were so excited to all be together. They never really tired themselves out!
After the Y we went to Barnes and Noble to play with trains and tell stories. David and Riley picked out books and Ryan and I sat on the benches and listened. Before each story David would say "Ladies and Gentlemen" and then begin "reading".
For lunch we made pizzas. They rolled out the dough and picked their toppings. They took their pizza making very seriously.

Fun Having a Brother

David LOVES Texas Roadhouse. He calls it the Peanut Restaurant because they let you shell your peanuts and drop them all over the floor. He loves it. We go there all the time, but on this trip David saw the saddle on his way to the restroom and wanted to go back to the table and get Ryan so they could both get on. It was really sweet. He pulled (literally) Ryan to the saddle so they could get on together.

Not Making PlayDoh

We tried to make our own playdoh this week. I don't think we're quite ready for this activity indoors, we might try it again in the spring when we can be outside. The boys liked getting the sticky flour and water all over their hands. The also liked throwing it.

Veteran's Day Parade

It was a chilly morning on Wednesday for the Veteran's Day parade at David's preschool. David is in the back of this first group of kids wearing the navy coat and red (spiderman) mittens. We walked around the block with some military vehicles leading the way. Lots of veterans came out to march with the kids. The brought boom boxes and played patriotic music. David took a nap Wednesday afternoon. I think this pooped him out!

Tumblebus Birthday

We celebrated our friend Luke's 2nd birthday this weekend on the Tumblebus. It was chilly outside on Saturday morning, but really warm inside. The kids had a blast going through all the activities on the bus.
Ryan loved the tunnel. He rolled all over the place inside there.
David got to stand on his head. He was excited to do all the activities. It was fun to see how much all the kids have grown. They were all running around on their own.

Happy Halloween Continues

We celebrated Halloween again on Tuesday night with Shelby and some of Kelsey's friends.
Ryan spent the first half hour of the party alone in Kelsey's room playing with her dollhouse and babydolls. Seriously, 30 minutes, upstairs all by himself, and just as happy as can be. He put the doll baby to bed and put a blanket over her. He was so pleased with himself.

Shelby had lots of great snacks for the kids. And a fun balloon decorating activity. David loved putting stickers on his balloon.

Ryan did come back downstairs when it was time for cupcakes. He only ate the frosting (such a smart kid).

DQ Rewards

This morning was David's first swim lesson with his new teacher. I bribed him into walking into class by promising him DQ. His favorite teacher, Ms. Patty, ended up being there for the walk in and made everything very smooth. At the end of class David told me his new teacher is "good" and he wants to keep going to swimming. Yummy reward at DQ after class.

Biking to the Leaves

Leaves are everywhere! We went to the park to ride bikes on Monday afternoon and found big piles of leaves. The boys were on their bikes for a little bit, but they had the most fun running and jumping in the leaves.

Trick or Treating

Optimus Prime (Transformer)
Elmo (Ryan DEMANDED that he dress up as Elmo.)

The Loot!

Pumpkin Carving

Friday night we got together with our neighbors to carve pumpkins. Iron Man and the Hulk! The stencil worked out really well. David was thrilled to have superhero pumpkins.
The kids played until they were tired out and then collapsed on the couches to watch Winnie the Pooh.

Crafts

I LOVE Ryan's face in this picture. You can imagine what he thought of the craft project Mother's and More put together for the Halloween party Friday afternoon! We did end up making two very cute frames for their halloween pictures.
