Ryan is a Driver

Ryan is so happy to be allowed to drive the gator on his own. No more waiting for David to take him for a ride. He took his first sping on Wednesday afternoon. He was so excited. Did he want to take David with him? No Way! He ran up to his room and brought down Grover, Super Grover, Elmo and his dogs - Boone & Bubbles to join him. So Happy!

Happy Easter continues

Our Easter day continued on to opening presents and playing games at Nana Sharon & Pappy Dave's house. The boys got basketballs and David found a new puzzle to put together.

Happy Easter

We ended our Saturday night with egg coloring. Riley joined us again to help color and shrinky dink some eggs. Jill was a good helper for Ryan. David colored 6 eggs, Riley 3 and Ryan 3. Not sure how that worked out.Happy Easter morning. The boys found their baskets in the dining room. David went through everything before we even realized they were awake. Ryan was thrilled with all the candy. He is a candy man! We told them to go outside after they enjoyed some chocolate. Paul put together the basketball hoop Saturday night after they were asleep. It was a fun surprise. They each made some baskets. Ryan had some help.

Happy Easter

We went on an adventure for Easter this year. We enjoyed a homestyle dinner at Slicks restaurant and then headed to Bedford Springs. It was a rainy spring day, but we were lucky enough to have some time to walk around and let the kids run and swing.
Dinner was yummy. I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow I ended up at the kids table with Ryan, David and Kelsey. Kathy and I were the chaperones. I wish I could remember our conversations with the kids. They love talking about body parts and snot. Maybe it's good I've forgotten. Ryan was thrilled that David did not want his dessert. He loves candy and ice cream. Easter was good to him. Checking out Bedford Springs. The kids loved running through the muddy trail. Kaitlyn's leg was covered in mud and Pappy Dave thought it was GREAT! He also kept wanting to show the kids the water running over the mountain and encouraged them to walk right up to the ledge. All the kids, (Aunt Susan is included as one of the "kids"), loved Pappy pushing them on the swing.

Underwater Egg Hunt

The YMCA held and underwater egg hunt for the kids on Saturday. David got to swim with our neighbor, Riley and Ryan got to swim with Paul.
David was one of the only kids to dive under and pick all the eggs up from the bottom of the pool. They were filled with rocks to keep them down there. Riley floated at the top and stuffed the eggs inside her suit. She was too funny.
Ryan had fun swimming in his vest with Paul. He collected lots of eggs for his basket.
After the egg hunt was over David wanted to show Paul his swimming skills in the big pool.

Easter Egg Scramble

The sun came out just in time for the Easter Egg Scramble on Saturday afternoon. The boys were in the same area this year, kids ages 3-5.
They took off for the eggs when the whistle blew. David was super speedy. He was running all over the place. Ryan was trying really hard to keep up with him. the Easter bunny must have been very busy Saturday morning putting out all those eggs.

Soccer Season

Spring Soccer season started in April. We have only had one practice out of five because of rainy weather. David is thrilled that Paul is coaching again this season. Their one practice was on a very windy Sunday afternoon. The parents on the sidelines were freezing, but the kids didn't seem to mind.

Brown Paper Packages Tied up with String

The boy's preschool took a trip to a local long term care facility to sing for the "grandmas and grandpas". They sang one of my favorite songs: Favorite Things from the Sound of Music. We sang it all week before they went. David sang great with lots of concentration. Ryan stood in the quietly and pretty much glared at everyone. That afternoon I asked what their favorite part of the trip was: The Bus Ride.
When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad.

Walking in the Rain

We had a no-school day on Wednesday last week and decided to go for an adventure on the City Bus to downtown. It rained off an on all day, so all the kids enjoyed their umbrella walk. We had lunch at Panera and then headed down College Avenue. The kids have a new favorite store downtown - Campus Candy! They filled up their bags and had a sugar snack. They were giddy! David was excited to see cowtails and Ryan was excited to see everything. Next time we go we'll try out the ice cream too. We took a walk on campus to burn off the sugar. They were nuts. Lots of running and jumping. It was fun to watch the students check out these little guys walking through campus. They all looked cute with their umbrellas.

Storytime for Everyone

Storytime used to be just for the boys, but now Rocky has shown some interest in joining everyone on the bed. Once Rocky jumped up Twix had to be there too. Henry has shown no interest in storytime. (He prefers the quiet that storytime brings to the rest of the house.)

"I have a cousin, and she's SIX!"

We celebrated Kelsey's 6th Birthday on April 2nd. The boys loved her scavenger hunt and pinata. David has been telling all his friends about his "cousin, who is SIX!". He's very proud of Kelsey's age. (wait till he finds out about her missing tooth!) Superstar! "Ryan LOVES cake and ice cream!" Buddies! The Birthday girl!

Caught in the Act!

We're having fun with Rocky! I caught him on top of the kitchen table last week. The dog training classes only pay off if we actually start to practice what we learn! So far Rocky thinks he's training us. :-)
