At the Movies

Shelby and I took the kids to the movies this afternoon to see Monster vs Aliens at the $1 theatre. David, Kelsey and Kaitlyn did great. David and Kelsey loved sitting beside each other for the movie. Ryan lasted about an hour and then we went for a walk and came back for the last 20 minutes of the movie.

Touch a Truck Day

Paul took David to Touch a Truck day at the State College High School this weekend. David got to climb all the trucks. His favorite was the fire truck.

Backyard Batman

It was really hot today, but David insisted that "Batman" wanted to have a snack in the swingset clubhouse. He went upstairs brought the costume down and asked me to help him put it on. Then he carried his jello and drink up to the clubhouse. It didn't take too long until he headed back into the house and told me it was too hot to eat outside. He took the mast off and enjoyed his snack inside.

Outdoor Swim Lessons

Monday was David's 1st morning of outdoor swim lessons. They start at 10:45 and run until 11:30, so it's not too cold outside. And they set the pool temperature up to 83 degrees. David was still "COLD MOMMY!!!". He ran out screaming and crying after the 45 minutes were up. Later he told me he had fun and likes his teachers?! Crazy kids!
Today we stayed at the pool after the lessons were over and ate lunch and then swam until 1 p.m. We came home and Ryan took a 3 hour nap and then we headed back to the pool for some evening swimming with Paul. I hope this warm weather lasts because it was such a nice day.
The boys had fun in the pool and climbing up and down the hill on the side of the pool.

Happy Father's Day

We had a busy Father's Day. A walk on campus to see the Nittany Lion and visit the Alumni Center duckpond and then a baseball game Sunday night with fireworks.
We love our seats at the field. Ike the Spike is always around after the 7th inning to hangout in the stands with the kids. Tonight he stole David's hate and wore it on his tail. David was laughing so hard he had tears in his eyes.
Ike invited David to sit with him for a little bit during the fireworks display. Normally the kids aren't allowed to sit here during the game, so after Ike motioned for David to come up and sit down, David asked us if he could go. He was so happy sitting there with Ike.

At the Car Wash

If I had music on this blog, I would have it playing At the Car Wash today. The boys both love to wash the cars! I hope this love of washing cars continues into their teenage years.
David is always very excited to get to use the hose. He sprays just about everything in the driveway and around it.

Ithought this picture was hysterical of David being terrified that Paul was going to let Ryan use the hose! :-)

Meet The Spikes Players

We took the boys to the Meet the Players night at the Spikes field on Thursday night. We all got to go out on the field and they took a picture with the team and the fans. David got to sit up front with the players. He was so cute up there with all those big guys. They loved meeting the team, but both boys loved seeing Ike the Spike best!
The Nookie Monster got a hug from David too.

Baby's Kid's Night

Shelby and I had planned to take the kids to Delgrosso's this afternoon, but the weather was chilly and it looked like rain, so we opted to take them to the duck pond on campus and then to Baby's for dinner. Everyone had milkshakes! Yum!

After they ate their meals they got a "Teeny Weeny" sundae. They ate the whipped cream on top and then Shelby and I got to finish the hot fudge and ice cream. It was a fun night, but David told me that Delgrosso's is more fun on our drive home. These kids are so spoiled!

Happy Birthday Paul

We took the boys to Lake Tobias this afternoon as part of Paul's birthday celebration. It was a beautiful day and the boys had a lot of fun on the safari tour and walking around the park feeding the animals.
Ryan and David were both excited to feed the elk that came up to the safari bus. David was a little upset about his fingers touching the elk's tongue, but he calmed down after he wiped them on his shirt.
Later in the day, David had no problem fedding a squirrel monkey a treat. He was really excited to tell me that the monkey didn't bite him.
One of the goats at the petty zoo really really really liked Ryan's hat. He kept at it and was able to pull it off Ryan's head. Poor Ryan. He liked the hat without any goat bite marks.

David and Ryan enjoyed the goats in the petting zoo and ran out of crackers pretty fast. Ryan was so excited when a goat would eat one of his crackers. He would just drop the cracker and burst into laughter. David was much more careful about feeding the goats. He would only give them a little piece of the cracker.

Ryan goes to a Pool Party

Ryan was invited to his friend, Sophia's, pool party on Friday afternoon. David stayed home and played with Paul and two of his friends, while I took Ryan to the party. It was really fun to do something with just Ryan. He loved the ice cream cake! He had two spoons, so while he was eating from one I was filling the other one up with ice cream. He's a champion ice cream cake eater.
The pool area was really nice and perfect for the 2 and under crowd. It was really shallow and filled with toys.

Ryan and his friend Tara enjoyed some pizza before they had cake. You can see that Ryan has two forks this time. He's really into using utensils . . . or maybe he's just really into eating.

Welcome Home Nana Sharon and Pappy Dave

Nana Sharon and Pappy Dave arrived home from their vacation this week. They came to visit on Friday afternoon. We went to Chick Fila on campus and then walked to the alumni center to feed the ducks and the squirrels.
David is pretty good about throwing the nuts to the squirrels, but Ryan had some trouble. He would beg me for some nuts and then walk around holding onto them (he held onto to the nuts very tightly with strong grips in both hands.) After he walked around he would come back to me and hand me the nuts. Silly kid!

Last Day of Preschool . . .sniffle sniffle

Today was David's last day of preschool! This year has flown by. I loved his preschool teachers. I'm so happy that Ryan will get to be in the same classroom for his 1st year of preschool when he's 2 1/2. I burst into tears when I picked David up and the teachers gave me a hug. I'll miss seeing them as much as David. David has 2 more years of preschool before kindergarten, so we'll get to at least see his teachers again next year even though he'll be in a different classroom.
After school we celebrated the last day by going to the Waffle Shop for lunch and then to the park. David showed Paul an album of pictures the teachers took throughout the year. He was so proud to tell us about each picture.

Buddy Day at the Park

Today was Bring a Buddy day for season pass holders at Delgrossos. Shelby, Kaitlyn and Kelsey invited us to be their buddies and spend the day at the park together. It was a perfect day for the waterpark and rides. We exhausted the kids and ourselves.

After a little swimming they all needed snacks. . .a lot of snacks! Here they are shoveling it in.

This time we let Ryan get on some more rides in the kiddie sections. We all rode the Dizzy Dragon together. Shelby and I really didn't want to spin, but David and Kelsey thought it was a lot of fun. We walked away feeling like dizzy dragons.
Ryan really likes this boat ride. While the other kids were on a ride that was too big for him he got to go on a boat ride by himself.

18 Month Check Up

Ryan had his 18 month check up on Monday morning. He was not happy with the situation. He had a tantrum in the waiting room and then nearly passed out when the nurse attempted to weigh him. We waited over 30 minutes for the doctor to come to the room, so I serenaded him with Itsy Bitsy Spider and Wheels on the Bus to calm him down. He went into tantrum mode when the doctor arrived and I thought he was going to pass out while his ears were getting checked. It ended with one shot and another near pass out session. The results are in and he is a string bean, just like his brother, 90 percentile for height and 30 percentile for weight. The excitement of this visit explains why Ryan took a 3 1/2 hour nap on Monday afternoon.
