Christmas Morning
Santa found our house on Christmas Eve. David was so excited when he came downstairs. He just stood in the kitchen looking at all the presents under the tree. He wouldn't go into the room, he just stood there staring at them. We had to tell he that he was allowed to go in and open the gifts. He didn't hesitate after that. We thought it would take him hours to open all the gifts. Within 20 minutes he had ripped through all of them! He would tear off the paper and throw it and then throw the gift aside and move on to the next one. He barely looked to see what was inside. He was having so much fun opening gifts. David's favorite gift was his Gator. We took the battery out after he figured out how to push on the pedal and make it go. I didn't think he would figure it out so quickly, but it took him about 2 seconds and he was racing across the room. We'll put the battery back in when it gets warmer outside. For now he is having fun taking pretend trips with his friends - Mickey and Pooh.
He made sure to include Ryan. He helped by opening Ryan's gifts. David took all of Ryan's beads and sat them on top of Ryan while he was sleeping on a pillow. Ryan was covered in beads. David was very proud of himself.

We celebrated Christmas with Shelby, Bob, Kelsey and Kaitlyn on the 23rd after they went to the basketball game. Kelsey and David helped each other open presents. Ryan got some blocks from Shelby. She felt he should play with them immediately so she stacked them on his little head! He slept right through it. David loved playing with cousin Kelsey and Kaitlyn.
David went to his first PSU Men's Basketball game on the 23rd with Nana, Pappy and Aunt Shelby and Uncle Bob. It was youth day at the game. They had a whole section to themselves. David and Kelsey ran through the aisles and laughed at each other. Uncle Bob took David to meet the Nittany Lion. David was excited when the Nittany Lion was far away, but not so much when he got close to him.

David's Big Boy Eagles Room
David has been sleeping in his big boy room for a month now. Paul painted it Eagles colors. The white stripe is magnetic. David hangs his drawings and paintings on the wall with his Eagle's magnets. He has an Eagle's basketball hoop on the wall that he loves to throw his ball. The room has been a hit. We were a little concerned that he wouldn't give up the crib, but he now tells us that the crib is for the baby. Thursday, December 20, 2007

Big & Little Smiles
When I asked David to smile he opens his mouth really big and smiles as wide as he can. I can't get him to smile with his mouth even slightly closed. When I asked him to show me a little smile, I got a closed mouth face. He's such a funny kid. he loved holding Ryan in the chair this morning. He was so excited. It was my only way of getting him out of his pajamas. I told him he could hold the baby if he got dressed. Tuesday, December 18, 2007
This is how Ryan enjoys spending much of his day. In the peaceful serenity of his pack-n-play. He snoozes the day away, until David wants to check on him. David's idea of checking on the baby involves carrying his little chair into the living room and then standing over the pack-n-play and screaming. Ryan comes to life and joins in the fun. Two screaming children! What fun!Monday, December 17, 2007
Ryan is growing like a champ. He gained 1 pound 4 oz in his first 2 weeks. The doctor was happy with his progress. he's still sleeping a ton during the day and staying awake at night. We're hoping that turns around soon. Ryan enjoys the swing a lot during the day and sleeping in the pack-n-play in the living room. David has been a great big brother. He loves to pull out a wipe and a diaper when I tell him it's time to change the baby's diaper.

Spoiled!
David could not get enough of Grammy Jill and Poppy Dave tonight! He had so much fun sitting on the couch with them and making sure that he got as much attention as Ryan. He showed Grammy Jill all his new moves - running around the house and screaming. He had fun figuring out what Poppy Dave had on his face - a beard! He stayed up late to play with them. Grammy Jill read David many stories and put him to bed. What a fun night!
David got to see Santa at the Videon Open House. He was so excited to see him. He looked down the stairs and saw him and got a huge smile and said "Santa, Ho Ho!" He took off down the stairs and then came to a quick stop. When his name was called he wanted nothing to do with Santa! Poor Santa. He loved his gift though - Salty the train. Videon Baby

Snuggle Time
This has been a sleepless week at our house. Paul is back at work and David has decided to start waking up at 6 a.m. instead of 8 a.m. I think he's anxious to see the baby in the morning. Ryan has been staying awake most of the night and sleeping during the day. To combat David's new morning routine, I've come up with mid-morning movie snuggle time. David picks a movie, typically Pooh, and then we snuggle up with a blanket on the couch. He's usually asleep by the time his snacks are eaten and the first song is over and takes at least an hour long nap. ,
