The HULK

David has moved from Batman to the HULK. He tells me he's the HULK after he takes his shirt off. The HULK does not wear a shirt - silly mommy! Kelsey thought it was fun to be the HULK too. Here they are with their best HULK impressions.

Last Warm Day of Summer

Last Tuesday we took all the kids to Delgrosso's. It was the last really hot day of summer. Since then it feels like fall has arrived. We knew it would be the last day, so we went all out- ice pops, freezie drinks and funnel cakes! Yum!

Ryan has no fear on the flying fish ride. He throws his arms up in the air, just like David.

David and Kelsey rode the bumper cars. This was their favorite ride of the day.

Kaitlyn and Ryan are still too little for the bumper cars, but they really wanted on. To appease them I got them a funnel cake.

Ice Cream Truck

The Ice Cream Truck came through our neighborhood on Monday evening. We heard the music playing just as we sat down to eat. Luckily the truck was still in the neighborhood beside us and the promise of ice cream from the truck was all the motivation the boys needed to eat their food.
David wanted the Spiderman treat as soon as he saw it. And, of course, Ryan pointed and screamed for the same thing. Ryan ate most of his, but David got frustrated by the ice cream melting on him pretty fast.
Ryan never minds the mess if the treat tastes good. He was covered by the time the ice cream was gone. I don't know if he ate most of it or just spread it out all over himself. It disapeared pretty fast.

Hot Time at the Zoo

We spent a very hot weekend, last week, at the Philadelphia Zoo with Grammy Jill and Poppy Dave. The boys got some relief from the heat by enjoying the indoor sites. They loved the gorilla.
The fountain by the bears was a great place to cool off. Ryan probably would have climbed right in if we would have let him.

Caped Crusader

David's fascination with Batman is not wearing off. He threw a fit so that we would allow him to wear it to Champs for dinner (of course, he does look pretty cute, so it wasn't much of a fit).
He kept in on in the car when we stopped at DQ for ice cream. He was very careful not to spill on the costume. He kept telling me how careful he was being in the backseat.

Ryan hasn't tried to bring any costumes with us when we travel. He was just happy to have some ice cream.
Here's David riding around, protecting, the neighborhood as Batman.

Farm Tour

We took the boys on a tour of 4 farms on Saturday afternoon. There were 20 local farms open to the public from 12:30 - 5:30. We were only able to make it to 4 of them. David and Ryan got to feed pigs at 3 of farms. By the time we got to the 3rd farm David was a pro at filling the cup up with corn and giving it to the pigs.
The last farm we went to had a little of adorable baby pigs. David stood and watched them for a long time. They ran all over their pen with the little amish boy. David loved watching the little boy in the pen. I think he really wanted to jump in too.
The pigs at this farm were enormous. After David threw the food to them the pigs went nuts - they were so loud. David jumped up into Paul's arms and put his hands over his ears and said "Too Loud!".
The pigs were all at least 300 pounds. The daddy pig on the right was over 500 pounds! They all stayed behind the electric rope. None of them came close to it. It was a little nervy to be standing to close while they went nuts over the food.
Ryan was at ease with the chickens. He got down to check them out.

Funshine Day!

Kelsey and Kaitlyn spent the day with us on Thursday while Shelby attended a conference in State College. It was a beautiful day and we ended up outside from 9:30 a.m. - 4:45 p.m.! I played them out (I also played myself out! I was very lucky to have our neighbor's teenage cousin Marissa here all day to help.)
Kelsey spent the most time of all the kids painting. She was very proud of her creation.

Water Balloons!!! We went through 250 water balloons - very quickly. I don't think they even lasted 30 minutes.

Each time I went into the house for a snack I told them they all had to sit on the towels. They were all hungry all day, so they would RUN to the towels. It was a good way of getting them all in one place for a picture too!

Marissa was so good with all the kids. She helped put tattoos on all of them.

Kelsey is so sweet with Ryan. She saw him sitting in the pool all by himself and she jumped in and made him giggle.
Paul came home for our picnic lunch. The kids enjoyed peanut butter and jelly and peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches. I didn't even have to worry about a mess. They all jumped in the pool after they were done and cleaned themselves up!

A good portion of the day was dedicated to filling buckets of sand up from the sandbox and dumping it into the water table. They thought it was hysterical. I thought it was a mess! They walked up and down the yard with their buckets and kept laughing about it. They told me they were making dinosaur snot (lovely?!).

At 4:45 they all came in the house and jumped in my bathtub. They were so excited to take a bath together. None of them wanted to get out. I had to bribe them with the promise of watching a movie to get them out. They all wanted to put on their pajamas. They were exhausted.
