Summertime Fun

We had a fun summer day today. It ended with a trip to the ice cream mean. David begged for the Spiderman treat and then ate all of Paul's ice cream sandwich! Silly kid!
Ryan spent most of the day watching the action from the exersaucer on the patio.
Our neighbor Riley came over to play with moonsand outside this afternoon. The two of them had a blast playing with the moonsand, water balloons and sidewalk chalk. They were a mess after they were done. Riley's mom and I enjoyed glasses of wine while we watched the mess get bigger and bigger!

Mulch Movers

David and Paul got started spreading our mulch this weekend. David was covered in mulch within 10 minutes (maybe less). He had a great time and was sure to tell me that he was "very dirty" when he came inside so he could get a bath right away. The kid loves bathtime!

Grammy and Poppy

Grammy Jill and Poppy Dave came for a visit this weekend. The boys were all smiles. David took Grammy Jill upstairs and told her she was going to sleep here on Saturday night. He was very upset to find out they would not be spending the night. He has asked about them many times today. Our visit to their house in August will be very highly anticipated!

Kid's Day at Art's Fest

We went downtown for Kid's Day at the Arts Festival this afternoon. Our day started at the State Theatre for the showing of Curious George. David got to sit by his friend Cara for the movie. They both love George and did great through the movie. Ryan fell asleep for most of the movie and sat up and watched the last 15 minutes while eating him Mum Mums (his favorite treat). We went downtown and checked out the kids booths. There were over 250 kid vendors selling their original works of art. David picked up a marshmallow shooter and a metal spinner. I'm not sure who will use the marshmallow shooter more - David or Paul!
David made some bath fizz at the science booth on Old Main lawn. He wanted to come home and take a bath right away.
We watched the students making ice cream using liquid nitrogen. It was really neat to watch. David stood right by the bowl and was pretty amazed when the smoke from the liquid nitrogen started blowing. He lifted up his arms to touch it. The ice cream was pretty good.

4th of July

David and Paul enjoyed the 4th of July together this year. Ryan had a cold and stayed home with me. They went to the Spikes baseball game in the afternoon and then enjoyed watching the fireworks from inside the club seat section of Beaver Stadium.

Ryan and I stayed home and played with all of David's toys! Ryan's new thing is to crawl over to David's toy shelf and pull out all of David's puzzles. He loves to tear them apart and taste all the pieces. Normally David runs over and grabs them all from Ryan, but today Ryan enjoyed having them all this himself.

Monkey Munch

We made monkey munch this morning. I saw the recipe on Jon&Kate + 8. Chocolate, Peanut Butter and Sugar - Delicious! David was a great helper. He had his own pot filled with powdered sugar. He was in charge of stirring it. He did a great job!

After we were done David enjoyed a spoon full of peanut butter and chocolate chips.
Ryan is still having fun watching all the action from his excersaucer. He giggled at us while we were making our snack. Poor little guy wasn't even allowed to try any.

Outside Toys

Ryan has been enjoying the baby swing on the swingset. David was thrilled to push him in the swing this morning. Ryan looks a little scared in this picture, but he was actually giggling because David would run around to look at him after he pushed the swing. David would also yell "Higher Baby?" I told him the baby was high enough! David enjoyed playing outside with his moonsand this afternoon. Moonsand comes in bright colors and is sand that can be formed into shapes. It keeps the shape until you crush it back into sand - i.e. very messy outdoor toy!
