New Year's Eve

We spent a quiet New Year's Eve at home this year.  The boys spent most of the day playing outside and tiring themselves out.  They were determined to stay up until midnight.
They fought some jedi battles while we waited for the clock to strike midnight.

Both very tired boys made it to midnight this year!  They were so happy to go to bed at 12:01 a.m.!

Ice Slide

We still had a ton of snow to play outside.  The boys were having so much fun sliding down the slide into the snow.  Paul decided to build an ice slide at the bottom of the slide.  It's so nice that we have neighbors who are just as crazy as we are to help us with just this type of project.  Paul and Brian got to work carrying buckets of water up the slide to make the ice slide.
They pounded the snow down to make a hard base and then poured the water. . . .
 Hard at work . . .
Success!  The boys all loved it!

After the long day playing and working we had a meal of yummy snacks.  Everyone was tired from being outside all day.
The ice was solid by the next day!  Fun Sliding!

Christmas with Grammy Jill

On Thursday we headed to Grammy Jill's house to celebrate Christmas.  The boys each got a Philadelphia Flyers hat from Uncle Peter and Aunt Gloria.  Ryan was especially excited because he says he wants to be a hockey player someday.
The boys had fun opening their Skylanders Giants game and new legos.  (Notice David checking out the number of legos in Ryan's set.  David has become very concerned that he gets the same number of legos in his set as Ryan.)
Grammy Jill and Cousin Heather looked through the calendar the boys gave to Grammy Jill.  We love making the photo calendars every year and the boys love looking through it.

Favorite Presents

The boys both agreed that their favorite present was the Playmobil Castle.  They also loved that it was already built and waiting for them in the playroom.
Ryan's favorite present was his Lego Passenger Train.
David's favorite present as the Monster Hunter's Castle.

After Christmas Snow

We had a great snow storm the day after Christmas.  The boys played on their swing set and then helped Paul shovel the driveway.  They tried to build a pile of snow to jump into, but then decided to make snow angels in the front yard.

After all that work they took a break for hot chocolate and marshmallows before going back to work on their Legos.

Christmas Night

Nana Sharon and Pappy Dave arrived on Christmas night with more presents.  The boys were thrilled to get more Legos!  Ryan loved his new Ninjago set and David was thrilled to get the Monster Hunters Castle.  He took Nana Sharon by surprise with his jumping hug.
After gifts we worked on decorating Gingerbread Houses in the dining room.  Ryan was very happy to get to make a new house.

David thought Pappy Dave did a great job with his house.  Pappy Dave was very proud of his teddy graham portal he created to replace a front door.  David thought it was very cool.  Below you can see the teddy graham being transported through the round portal.  Very cool.   :-)

Ryan wore his Ninjago headband to give him extra special powers while working on his house!  He's a crazy kid!
We enjoyed looking at our houses and then carefully placed them on top of the hutch for the night!  Safe from any midnight snacking from Twix!
