End of Pioneer Basketball Season

This past Saturday was David's last basketball game.  He has LOVED everything about playing basketball on Saturday mornings - great coach, great teammates and he loves basketball.  He has been playing basketball every chance he gets - outside on the driveway, in the basement (thank you Grammy Jill) and in the living room.  We wake up each day to dribbling!
David got one basket during the last game.  The week before he had five baskets and five rebounds!  He was on fire!  (that's what he kept telling us! :-)
Team party following the game and then a team picture with their medals.

Scrapbooking Weekend

Scrapbooking at the Nature Inn at Bald Eagle State Park.  We spent three days scrapbooking all the pictures that fill my computer.  I'm working on a book of school memories for each of the boys and a book of Christmas memories.  I managed to complete 9 years of Christmases and got David's scrapbook caught up to Kindergarten.   I'm still working on Ryan's baby book!

Very relaxing weekend with great friends.  The Inn was beautiful.  We had a great view of the lake and got to watch the snow swirling on Saturday afternoon.

No School - President's Day - Roller Skating

We celebrated Presidents Day at the roller rink.  This was David's third time on skates.  He doesn't quite skate.  It's more like he is running with very heavy boots that have wheels on the bottom.  VERY LOUD!  Ryan really wanted to get out there with David.  He was having a lot of difficulty staying upright.
He took a break to recharge himself with a slushy, demanded a helmet and then headed out to catch up with David.  He was yelling at me to stay away from him in this picture below.  He wanted to skate out to David all by himself.
My two roller skaters!  Ryan took about three times as long as David to get around the rink, but he was very proud of his accomplishment.  The helmet must have given him some extra confidence or less fear of his brains coming out of his head.  :-)

Sick Days

David spent four days, Mon - Thurs, home sick with strep.  This is how he spent much of his time - in bed with Lego projects.  I had him quarantined to his room until the antibiotic was in his system for 24 hours.  We were lucky and he was the only one to have strep in our house.  He was lucky and worked on MANY Lego projects.

Happy Valentine's Day

Ryan had a Valentine's Day party at his preschool on Monday.  He was excited to open his Valentine's bag when we got home.  Lots of pencils this year.  They started a new rule - no food in the Valentine bags.
The boys woke up to lots of Valentine treats on Tuesday morning.  They loved the candy and the Legos.  David was not feeling well on Tuesday.  He had a cold and very nasty cough that started on Sunday.
We ended up in the doctor's office later that morning.  The cough was so bad and I wanted to make sure he didn't need antibiotics.  The quick strep test came back negative, so we went home with a prescription for rest and chicken noodle soup.  Paul brought David's favorite chicken noodle soup home for dinner - Hoss's chicken noodle soup.  (We found out the on Wednesday that the 24 hour test was positive and started antibiotics.)
Ryan was happy to enjoy his heart pancakes on his own.
By the afternoon David felt well enough to join us downstairs and build puzzles.
The boys were being silly in their mustache's after dinner.  They walked around the kitchen saying they were turning into Pappy Dave.

Doll Baby

Ryan picked out a Doll Baby while we were at the store this week.  He loves playing with the baby's at Aunt Shelby's house.  I asked him if he wanted one to have at our house and he immediately told me "NO!", but then when we were in the toy section at Walmart he said he wanted to go look at them.  We picked out a Doll Baby that came with eyes that open and close, a binky, bottle and a sippy cup.
Ryan had a playdate with Michael and Joseph that afternoon.  Michael's dad is a pediatrician and he must pick up his dad's doctor skills.  When he found out that Ryan had a new baby in the house he said "We have to give the new baby it's shots and an exam!".  Once the exam started Michael felt that the baby needed leg surgery.  :-)
The boys all loved Doll Baby.  Joseph was so sweet sitting on the couch giving the baby a bottle.  So sweet!

100 Days of School

Each Kindergartener was asked to bring in 100 items to class on the 100th day of school.  David's idea - 100 Lego people.  He spent the evening collecting all his Lego people and then counting them out by 10.
