PSU Blue White Game

The PSU Blue White game came on a cloudy afternoon this year. We were able to get to the stadium early and have lunch and then head out to our seats to watch the first half. Ryan game the Nittany Lion a hug for good luck.
We had a great lunch in the Nittany Lion Club section. Paul bought the boys a cookie to share. Poor Ryan thought the whole cookie was for him. He was not happy to share it with David.
The crowd of 55,000 wasn't as big as the 70,000 we had last year, but it is still pretty amazing to see this many people show up for a scrimmage. Lots of "Let's Go State" and "We Are . . Penn State" cheers for the team.
We left at halftime just as the rain started and headed home.

Friday Friend Day

I watched a friend's little boy all day on Friday. David had never met Ian, but the three boys made fast friends. They started the day playing batman and running all over the house. How lucky to have 3 batman masks in my house!
I can't really explain how happy Ryan was to be included in the activities. David and Ian were able to put their capes and masks on themselves, but Ryan ran downstairs yelling "Mommy Mask and Cape. . . Mommy Mask and Cape!" So happy!

David shared his batman leapster game. The two sat so close on the couch playing the game.

It was a beautiful day. We spent the afternoon outside and took the gator for a ride around the neighborhood.

David and Mickey

David and Mickey have been together every Tuesday and Thursday since September learning how to swim. Now they also have soccer together on Tuesdays. They have so much fun together. This morning they figured out how to side down the "big slide" together - on top of each other laughing the whole way down. Then they would jump up and yell "Again!"

McDonalds Playland

We took our first trip to the McDonalds with the kids playland on Friday after preschool. I don't know why it has taken us so long to visit this place. The boys had so much fun. They barely ate their lunches, but they loved climbing and sliding.

Riding the City Bus

Last week we took a trip downtown on the city bus with our friends. The kids kept calling it the city bus and pointing out all the other city buses that we saw along the way.
They were so excited to get in their seats. They sat "criss cross applesauce" and really paid attention to everything around them. They asked what other people were saying to the bus driver and wanted to know why certain people were getting off at each stop.

We got off at College and Allen and walked to Mama Mia's for pizza. The pizza was great and there were jugglers performing on the Old Main lawn right outside the window. Great entertainment for the kids.

After dinner we fed the squirrels on the Old Main lawn. David's new fun thing to do is peeing in public places (parks, woods behind our house, etc.) Anyway, he didn't disappoint on this trip and made sure to go behind a big tree, pull his pants down and pee right there on Old Main lawn! His friend Ryan had some fun too! I guess Boys will be boys! Two cute little butts make it hard to get upset.

The Laundromat

For reasons I'm not going to discuss because it is disgusting, we went to the laundromat last week to wash the boys comforters. They thought it was a fun afternoon activity, this was a surprise to me. I had prepared Tom & Jerry cartoons and lots of snacks to get through the 1 1/2 hours.
We were the only people in the laundromat and the boys thought we owned the place. David jumped in the dryer and Ryan thought it was hysterical.
Eventually David did get bored with the dryers and cart and turned the Tom and Jerry on. He loves that cat and mouse.

Fish Hatchery

We spent the afternoon outside today at the fish hatchery and then walking along spring creek. We got a bucket of fish food for the boys to feed the fish. Our only concern was Ryan's excitement level. We really thought he was going to jump in. He was giggling like crazy at the fish and very excited to see them eat the food.
He demanded that we let him carry the bucket. It was not an easy task for him, but he managed.
This was David's 2nd visit to the hatchery. He was much more interested in telling me what type of fish we were feeding and explaining that fish like food that smells just like dog food.

We took a really pretty walk along spring creek and stopped to look for some fish. We saw lots of fishermen, but no fish in the creek.
