Crime Fighters

David and Ryan have been playing SuperHero for the past few weeks. It's so funny to watch and listen to how much David gets into his character. He LOVES Batman.
Here's David showing off his crime fighting moves.

Ryan loves it because David loves it so much. I'm glad I bought the costumes after Halloween last year. They're still too big for Ryan, but he doesn't seem to mind. He wants to wear the costumes as soon as David puts his on. The other afternoon Ryan cried to put the Hulk costume on, but it was naptime. I made him take a nap. He would not let go of the costume so he fell asleep grasping the costume. He was holding it when I walked into his room after his nap. I put it on him right away.

Seven Springs Family Fun

We spent the weekend at Seven Springs enjoying some family fun. The kids were so excited to ride the Alpine Slide. They checked it out from the window while we were eating breakfast.
David and Kelsey both wanted to ride the chairlift with Nana and Pappy.

David said Pappy Dave was the fastest going down the slide. He wanted to ride with him everytime.

This was Ryan's first time on the Alpine Slide. He did great. No fear in this little guy.

Ryan had fun in the pool with his floaties. He loved hanging out in the water. He stayed in the pool long after David on Sunday.

Sno Cone Reality Check

Shelby and I thought we had it all figured out when we ordered sno cones for all the kids and then sat on a bench to take a break and enjoy watching them eat their treats. . . . this scene lasted, maybe 15 seconds. . . . Ryan was the first one to demand that he get out of the stroller. . .and by demand I mean scream until we both thought he was going to pass out. . . soon after he landed on the bench the other three joined him. . . not just sitting on the bench, but sitting standing, jumping, running, . . . they just don't stop.
Ryan was very happy with his cherry sno cone, messy, but happy!

4th of July Fireworks

We watched the 4th of July fireworks from inside Beaver Stadium with my parents and Aunt Susan and Uncle Gary. The boys were running around the for the entire show. They could not sit still. While we were waiting for the fireworks to start David kept asking when the booming would begin. Both boys were up until after 11 p.m. David was so tired he cried while he brushed his teeth for bed and then told me he didn't want a story, he said "I just want you to turn out the lights so I can sleep!". They were exhausted!

4th of July Party

After a day spent moving mulch, we went to a 4th of July party at a friend's house. The kids had a blast in the building with the air hockey table, ping pong table and whole assortment of baseball games. David loved the air hockey game with Kelsey.

All the kids got to go on gator rides through the woods. The kids lined up to take the 25 minute ride through the woods. David got to see a "mommy deer" while he was in the woods.

The boys were exhausted by the time the fireworks started. The rolled around in their blankets.

Surprise!

Paul had a 4 day weekend for the 4th of July. Paul surprised us and had 12 yards of mulch delivered on Thursday night. Paul's idea of family fun and my idea of family fun appear to be slightly different! The boys had a blast scooping out the mulch and helping spread it with Paul.

Suspended Excitement

Ryan surprised me by begging (crying) to sit on the potty this week and then actually peeing in it once I sat him there. I've lived and learned though, so I know not to get very excited about the possibility of him being potty trained at 19 months. He hasn't done it again, so I think it was a one shot deal.
